Get a Free Blog and Theme for the Holidays

I love blogging and I think everyone who spends as much time on computers as I do deserves to have their own space on the net. I also understand that it may not be as easy as it is for some people to take that leap and create their Internet home therefore I would like to help out as many people as I can. I want to offer this help for free.
Blogs are a great way to express your opinion, make new friends and even earn a living online. There ...

A Tribute To the Truly Old School

I had a moment today like I’m sure many of you have had before. Some co-workers and I were discussing the old days before the ‘internet’ as most know it today. I am talking about the early 1990’s onward and specifically BBS boards and ansii art. If anyone remembers what the old school ascii art looked like, here is a sample below. Most of them designed for or used by various BBS boards around 1992. All copyrights belong to their respective owners. Images found at sixteencolors.net

A follow up is coming ...

How to Keep your Excerpt Short and Sweet

I’m in the process of updating my theme to a newer version and decided to begin from scratch. One of the great features I like about Arthemia is the top portion that has the Featured and Headline section. Unforntunately the Headline section uses the_excerpt() to show a summary of a post. I say unfortunately because it’s a pain in the ass to have to copy a few lines of text into the excerpt box on the Wordpress Post page. Generally if you don’t put anything in the box, you have ...

NoScript ClearClick Warning For Wordpress.com Stats

For those unaware, NoScript is a wonderful Firefox addon that keeps your browser secure. In the words of the development team,
The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Flock, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java, Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank), and provides the most powerful Anti-XSS protection available in a browser.
I have recently run into a problem which relates to a ClearClick Clickjack attempt warning when ...

console.log Has Broken Your Website

The Internet has a wealth of information on every topic you can think of and for once in my life I am unable to find the answer to my question. I recently noticed that when visiting my own website in Internet Explorer I am being presented with an Error on Page warning that states the following:
Line: 16
Char: 9
Error: ‘console’ is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://serial-box.net

I don’t know anything about javascript and from what I’ve found through my searches is that this error is caused by the use of console.log which is used ...

Be a Better Multi-Tasker: Use Firefox Addons with Flock Browser

Ive been looking for an alternate browser to Firefox lately and came across Flock which is powered by Firefox/Mozilla. I was very happy to learn that the Firefox Addons that are available at the Mozilla website are interchangeable with Flock. Go Mozilla!
The Flock Browser’s main focus is social networking. It integrates live feeds and connecetions to all of the major social networking sites such as Digg, Flickr, and your own personal RSS feeds.
The installation process for Firefox addons is simple. You find the extension/addon you want to install on ...

Use Swagbucks Search Engine to Replace Google and Earn!

I admit that earlier this summer when I wrote about Swagbucks I was quick to judge and that resulted in a negative review of a website and concept that deserved the benefit of doubt and oppurtunity to prove itself before being written off as a failure. To recapt quickly, Swagbucks is a search engine that offers rewards for using their search engine. The best part about Swagbucks is that they use the Google Search Engine to display results and being that Google is the only engine I use this seemed ...

How To Get a Refund From 1and1

For those of you who follow my blog you might remember two articles I wrote earlier this year about how 1and1 stole money from me, hijacked my domain names and then told me too bad so sad and refused to entertain the possibility that they messed up. For those not aware of what happened, in the extremely short version 1and1 kept my expired domain names online and active for months after trying to charge my expired credit card and then sent me to a collection agency rather than let me ...

Operation Immortality - Send a Piece of You into Space

Let me pose a question that at one time could have been considered hypothetical but in today’s world is becoming more of a reality. If the world was going to end and you had the chance to escape to another planet what is the one thing you would bring with you? Here is your chance to stay ahead of the game and send a piece of you off to space before the planet earth dies. Be a part of
Operation Immortality has taken preservation to the next level. This real life ...

Why You Shouldn’t Use Swagbucks as Your Search Engine

I’d like to point out that Ron, an employee of Swagbucks was kind enough to visit the site and address some of the concerns I had with the program and I have to admit I was impressed that they took the time to do some damage control. Please read the Swagbucks response to the post. I am now using the system and testing it out. I have also written a positive review of Swagbucks based on the last few months of rare usuage.
My original intention with this article ...
