In a telephone interview on Monday, Stevie’s stepfather, Terry Hobbs, confirmed that West Memphis police had videotaped an interview with him within the last three weeks.

Riordan, who heads the team, did not want to talk about what happened during the meeting but he did say there is movement toward getting a new trial for the West Memphis Three- Damien Echols, Jason, Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley.

West Memphis Three Worldwide Awareness Day is a way for people all over the world to come together to organize their own benefits, awareness-raising and fundraising events to help keep this tragic injustice in the public eye and to generate funding for the ongoing legal and investigative work that will free these three men. The world is aware of this case and there’s no chance of it disappearing. There are too many eyes and ears and voices now.

On Friday, January 19, the ADC removed Jason Baldwin and other inmates from Tucker and transferred them to Varner Unit as part of a sweeping investigation of staff abuses. Baldwin has not been charged with a violation, is not on punitive status or lost his 1C classification, the highest that can be attained by an inmate with a capital sentence.

No physical evidence, no witnesses, no motive, no weapons, nothing. The prosecution decided to focus on the heavy metal music, black hair, black clothes and Stephen King books as PROOF that these 3 teenagers had committed the crimes. Unfortunately, Damien Echolls was sentenced to death, Jason Baldwin was sentenced to life in prison, and Jesse Misskelley received life plus 40 years. Remember, NO evidence at all!
