ScribeFire Makes Blogging That Much Easier
I am happy to announce that I have received my beta invitation for ScribeFire QuickAds! I will keep you posted but so far the systems looks insane(crazy.. good.. amazing)
I write this post to you from my new ScribeFire FireFox extension which conveniently places a nice frame in your browser that allows you to post content directly to your blog without having to log in. Whether you use a hosted blog service such as Wordpress.com or a self hosted blog from Wordress.org on your own server ScribeFire will allow you to create content without accessing the admin section and post directly to your blog.
ScribeFire currently supports the following services:
- WordPress.com (http://www.wordpress.com)
- LiveJournal (http://www.livejournal.com)
- Xanga (http://www.xanga.com/)
- Windows Live Spaces (http://spaces.msn.com)
- Performancing (http://www.performancing.com)
- Jeeran (http://www.jeeran.com)
- Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/)
- MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/)
- b2Evolution (http://b2evolution.net)
- Splinder (http://www.splinder.com/)
In addition to the hosted services mentioned above, ScribeFire also
supports custom blogging platforms which are usually blogging software
hosted on your own server.
The currently supported blogging platforms are:
- WordPress (http://www.wordpress.org/)
- Movable Type (http://www.movabletype.org/)
- Drupal (http://www.drupal.org)
- Textpattern (http://www.textpattern.com/)
- Roller (http://www.rollerweblogger.org)
- Blogger (http://www.blogger.com)
- MetaWeblog API (Any blogging software that implements this API)
As mentioned above, any blogging software or blogging platform that
implements the MetaWeblog API is implicitly supported by ScribeFire.
I think one of the coolest features of ScribeFire is that you can litereally drag and drop content from a web page you are viewing right into the editor and have it appear inside your post. For example if you want to quote something you just highlight it and drag it into the editor and its now part of the post and you can also switch back and forth between HTML and CODE mode to allow you to post custom HTML code. I’m not going to get into too much detail as you can can probably gather what this is about. The rest of it can be found at ScribeFire.
Another reason for this post is to mention a new feature that ScribeFire is coming out with. ScribeFire QuickAds. The concept of QuickAds is simple…. to make ad publishing easier for every day bloggers. If you blog then you have the potential to earn money from it but finding the right kinds of ad networks can be a tough task with so many out there. Then once you’ve found the right networks you have to keep track of a hundred different login details for various accounts and keep track of how much you’ve earned where and when you will get paid. It sucks.
ScribeFire brings together over a hundred ad networks and provides you with an easy way to display the ads on your website without you having to sign up to any of them and as long as you are using the ScribeFire editor to post you never have to insert any code into your blog. This is a golden concept and kind of upsetting that it took this long for such a brilliant idea to emerge. The best part is you can still display your existing ads from networks that are also part of QuickAds. You get paid on the 7th of every month with no minimum amount required.
The unfortunate thing is QuickAds is currently in closed beta so they are not accepting any new applications as of yet. I’ve signed up to receive an email invite when they start accepting new blogs. I have my fingers crossed that its soon!
