Let the Wordpress Egg Hunt Begin!

15 July 2008 26 views No Comment

With the release of Wordpress 2.6 basically one month early I decided to install a new development site to play around with some of the new features because Ive seen some comments around about issues with the image uploader and a few other various issues.  I did not want to apply the upgrade to my live site as of yet.

One of the cool new features is Post Revisions which like a wiki allow you to review all the past changes that you’ve made to your post that way you can revert back to a previously saved copy or even compare your post against an older/newer version.  Awesome!

So I decided to check it out.  I created a test post and saved it.   I then made some changes to it and saved it again a few more times.  Try comparing a post to itself instead of comparing to an older version and your world will come crashing down………

In plain English without viewing pictures - comparing a post against itself intitiates Wordpress’ self destruct feature… “self-comparison detected.  Initiating infinite loop eschewal protocol.  Self destruct in 3… 2.. 1..

Matt said it wasn’t true!

Easter Egg

There have been rumors and allegations that there was a so-called “easter egg” added to 2.6 early in its development. These rumors and allegations are completely false!
