Dichotomy to the next level

9 July 2008 23 views 3 CommentsTagged as:

I’m always looking for the next newest best thing on the web and I think I’ve found it and figured I’d give fellow blogger Cristian a hand promoting his new site JustTellMeWhy as English is not his first language.  If you’ve read the title of this post then like me you’re probably wondering what a Dichotomy is.  Yeah it sounds like some scary medical procedure but it’s basically a way of debating; subjects with a clear division of opinion.

Just tell me why is a new web service 2.0. It is a hybrid between a social bookmarker, a blog and a forum.  Each user states their opinion on the two choices. A survey with arguments. Dichotomies are resolved by the majority.  It’s kind of like Digg on steroids.  Rather than linking directly to an article to vote on, users can create a subject to debate which can include a link or not and people click to support one side or the other as an open debate.  I can see this type of thing getting kind of addicting.  Ive already participated in two and left my opinion and going to check back later to see how it goes.

just tell me why

Why not check it out and let me know what you think.  I expect to see a lot of people begin facing off against each other before the topics close off.  It won’t be long before its as popular as his Spanish site pqpq.es which is the same thing as Just Tell Me Why.

I’ve also found an interesting site to review best desktop computer speakers. I recently broke the speakers at my parents house at my last visit.  If anyone has any suggestions for nice inexpensive preferably online let me know!
