Victim’s mother believes defendants innocent.
In a telephone interview on Monday, Stevie’s stepfather, Terry Hobbs, confirmed that West Memphis police had videotaped an interview with him within the last three weeks.
Well well well…. After all these years its finally coming to light. Can it be that its now only a matter of time before Damien, Jason and Jessie are released from prison, to try and regain what is left of their lives? That is what I’m praying for.
On July 19th, 2007, Mara Leveritt reported here that new DNA evidence has been found linking Terry Hobbs, stepfather of murder victim Stevie Branch, to the material used to tie them up. Hell, even the boy’s mother now says she doesn’t think that Damien, Jessie and Jason are guilty. “We have stages of grieving that we go through,” she said. “I guess I came to forgiveness. I’ve always wanted to know the truth, and when I was called by the defense — knowing the DNA was being retested — I guess that was the big eye-opener.” To me this is a guilty conscience speaking out loud. She has admitted that the complete and total lack of evidence against the three convicted is enough for her to now realize that the wrong men are in prison. She goes as far as saying that she even believes that the actions of her now ex-husband Terry, on the night of Stevie’s disappearance was strange, and leads her to think that he may have had something to do with the murders,
Pam Hobbs acknowledges that she has “held anger toward Terry,” in part because of his actions on the night Stevie disappeared.
Terry usually got off work by 4 p.m., she said, in time to watch Stevie and their daughter Amanda, while Pam went to her job at a restaurant. On the day of the murders, Stevie, who had gone riding bikes with Michael, was supposed to be home at 4:30. He had not returned by 4:45, when Pam left for her job.
She said she assumed that he was just late, and that it was not until 9 p.m., when Terry drove to the restaurant with Amanda to pick her up, that she realized Stevie was not in the car.
“Terry told me he really thought he was going to find him and he didn’t want to burden me at work,” she said. “ But I held anger toward Terry over that — that he didn’t tell me Stevie was missing.”
As I’ve said countless times on this blog - I have been following this case since it started so many many years ago always thinking that the day would come soon when we can all celebrate the release of three innocent men and hope the real murderer is caught and punished.
I still get chills every time I read a story on the internet or read comments left on my blog by supporters of the WM3. It’s truly a sad case for all parties involved, convicted and victims’ families, however putting “someone” in jail for the crimes is not justice. Putting the one(s) responsible for this tragedy in prison is proper justice and whether it be Terry Hobbs, or Joe Blow who passed through town, is what needs to be done so that three innocent men can piece together what is left of their lives and live FREE!

I agree with you. I also think they are innocents and the real murder hasn’t been caught yet!
